Sakura Schlegel is an emerging artist who currently lives in Seattle, Washington. She has also lived in Changshu, China as well as Oakland and San Francisco. She received her Bachelor in Visual Arts in 2017 from Cornish College of the Arts. Since then, she has traveled throughout China, Thailand, and Hong Kong.
Over the years, her work has transversed various media, including sculpture, printmaking, performance, installation, and woodworking. However, she continues to be drawn to photography, painting and drawing as her preferred mediums. Past subject matter have included travel and culture, physical trauma, abstraction of form, yoga, anatomy and physicality of the body.
Her work has been shown at Cornish College of the Arts, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Bemis Building. She is also a RAW artist who has shown both in Seattle as well as Spokane. She is currently the Assistant Photographer for Facing Homelessness, as well as a freelance designer and photographer.
When not creating, she enjoys doing hot yoga and playing with the dog she rescued from China, Little Bat.
